After the triple bill of doom on Sunday, a friend recommended this: “Well, there’s death and autism in it, but it’s really uplifting”…. Okaaaaaay….

This is the film I was hoping Boychoir would be. Yes there’s autism, yes there’s death and yes the ending is a little too unbelievably happy (slash unrealistic) but the cast do a fantastic job. Sally Hawkins and Eddie Marsan are as wonderful as ever, I’m never really sure about Rafe Spall, but Asa Butterfield is scary good for someone so young. 4/5.
